Many Birthdays
Hometown: Austin, TX
Many Birthdays combine elements of electronic music, post-punk and art-rock, etc. They are advocates of home-recording and DIY aesthetics. The music mixes noise, beats, melodies, colors and textures into a swirling and somewhat unpredictable sound pool. The lyrics are a combination of English and Japanese, sometimes sang in beautiful rhymes, sometimes chanted, and sometimes shouted in chaotic rhythms. Imagine a black cat who drinks gin, dances and loves literature and you have Many Birthdays. “EMPTINESS IS FOREVER” is their latest self-released EP, available at select stores, online and at MB shows.
